Requiem for a Dream
If you are looking for an extremly pathetic drama, I would suggest Requiem for a Dream.
Sara is an old woman who dreams to appear in a show tv but has to lose weight in order to wear her best dress; her son, his girlfriend and his friend are drug addicted who would pay everything for the dope. After a great deal, their situation has badly fallen and they they found out that they were more addicted and more poor.
The movie is fair and realistic, well describes addiction and drug user’s feelings and impressions.
Interesting: The actress who played Marion (Jennifer Connelly) is the one who played the young Deborah in Once upon a time in America, 1984.
My rate: 8.5/10
