Bad habits on the PC

A friend asked me about my bad habits with computers; I did not know how to answer at that time.
Then, I figured that *my* bad habits on the PC start at 20:00 till the morning, when I have nothing serious to do: What is “normal” for me seems weird to the most of people.
Can someone make worse than …?

  • Playing hundreds of chess matches either on the Net or against my hacked version of Crafty. (my greatest sin!)
  • Eating 3 bars of black chocolate. (sometimes more)
  • Watching 4 movies or more. (and trying to memorize details)
  • Re-reading ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’. (Well, it’s against my principles for it’s too … not human. But Nietzsche is a genius!)
  • Learning Latin. (I don’t know to what will this lead me to, but it’s interesting)
  • Recompiling the latest kernel source and patching it with tens of modules, if they don’t fit, I hack on them manually. (The good thing is that I’m doing this less since my hard space started to decrease).
  • Making RPM and Debian packages after having patched the source, then installing the packages, checking that they work and no longer using them. (That affects space, their number increased to more than 1,000!)
  • Writing needless Perl and PHP classes. (Who would use them if I myself forget about?)
  • Benchmarking i386 programs / filesystems / databases, etc., making a report and throwing it out (The Nietzsche Effect).
  • Writing articles to be posted tomorrow on the blog. (That’s what I am doing)
  • Sleeping the head on the keyboard. (I did it several times, recently I learnt how to get the keyboard out and to put my head on the desk).

As I wrote, I don’t see those actions too bad and therefore I don’t do a great effort to change them :-)

Pour ceux qui ne comprennent pas l’anglais, ses habitudes sont très loin d’être mauvaises habitudes avec des ordinateurs.

For those who do not understand French, these practices are very far from bad habits with computers.

Moi je fais pire que ça. :)

    Ooops,
Pour ceux qui ne comprennent que l’espagnol, je suis désolé :D
