Swobodin v Brně

Yesterday was the Great Backup Day. I have recently bought a DVD burner, and had to buy it, because the space remaining on each partition was some megabytes; I wonder how I could survive! The good thing is that I learnt how to burn DVD’s without having to make an ISO image, the whole in one command:
growisofs -speed=4 -Z /dev/hdc -RUJ /Misc/
It took so long, that was not due to the waiting time of burn process, it did it (relatively) quickly, but to convert all the files that contain special characters, which is not accepted by ISO format. I first started to open the HTML files and substitute the directory name on which depends the file; then rename both the HTML file and the folder, but it was impossible to proceed on some thousands of files with only Vim; so I wrote a Sed script that handles all this. Was not so easy, I had to do it with Perl!
The second problem was catalogizing the burned DVD’s; I expected to do it quickly with Gwhere, but it was so slow!
Meanwhile I could watch 2 movies: Pass it forward (I wrote a post about this movie) and Apasionados; damn, it sucks! I like Argentinian movies however…
Finally, after saving the catalog, I cleaned all and the hard disk could take a breath again. I watched the clock, it was 3:10 AM, I had to get up at 6:30 …
