The Chechnyan ’cause’
Once I was waiting for the metro, and someone (who wanted to have a talk) told me while taking one of those awful newspapers:
“Our brothers in Chechnya succeeded to make a trap to Russian Army, God help them and I hope that Palestinian can do the same.”
Something I did not understand, our brother in Chechnya? Those long-haired-and-long-bearded cruel terrorists?
I’m not talking about civilians who are murdered, raped, hungry and homeless, if I could, I would help them. I know that Russians are abusing in Chechnya and the Russian Army is one of the most corrupt in the world, but what have I to support the terrorists for? Chechnya guerilleros are not angels and not as perfect as they show their propagandas; they are even more corrupt than the Russians! Is it for being Muslims that I have to stand with them? What do most of people not know, is that they started fighting for independence (They have the Dirty Oil), and only for that, but they had to adopt an ideology. As communism was a deprecated concept, they have chosen Islam to diffuse their ideas.
It’s an unfair cause, supporting those who kill innocents, who take hostages, who attack schools and terrify and murder innocent children, they make scandals. They fight against the Russians, exchange drugs and weapons with them and deal with the most famous Russian mafiosos (Berezovsky is one of them). Am I supposed to be in their side? Let’s suppose their got their independence (I wonder about that), will I be happy to see another Taliban-like state supported by Uncle Sam and whose the economy consists essentially of petroleum, which means another strategic resource for the USA? Me not, neither the millions of people tired to see hypocrite corrupt theocratics imposing their laws.
Just be realistic, and see what damages do those guys make, how many innocents they kill, and what are their further plans.
As we say in Tunisia: “Ignorance is a catastrophe”.
