With windows XP sp2 it's the case,windoZE become more stable & even very stable,and many users could confirm that. Linux is still for 'elite' not accessible by everybody ,so windows is the best solution for newbies or those who wants to play movies/games/songs... without having an headache when working with a system,simply they don't need a performant system to did that since windows did it perfectly now. I can confirm that because I use windows at the 'maximum' in many fields: programming,network,gaming,internet,multimedia,... The problem now is not stability,but it is: have I to pay enough money to get a system for my PC ? Certainly GNU/Linux has too much errors, but these errors can be easily understood and fixed.
