It’s time to review my blog activity, to figure out the bad points and to enhance the good ones.
Almost 9000 “human” visits so far in August, more than 80% of visitors come from Google, they often make wrong keywords, but sometimes find exactly what they are looking for, according to keywords.
The average of visit duration is 3 minutes (220 seconds); comments are very rare, 2 per post; well, I can’t force visitors to comment, but existing comments help me a lot: they give me an idea about other people’s point of view, indicate whether I’m right or wrong: I have received approvement, disagreements, … and even insults, but they all are useful to improve the content. I haven’t censored any comment, except spams, and I don’t know whether I will keep this policy if I get under pressure of a certain authority; if it’s the case, the person who commented will be informed in detail, so never think I will establish a censorship system to remove unwanted or non advantageous comments by a simple personal decision.
However, comments are not the only way of feedback: if my blog were based on comments, I would terminate it; I had to wait for 1 month to get my first comment which was not really cheerful. When I Google for my text or check out the referrers, I can realize what do other sites think of my writings. I get happy when I find a text of mine quoted with a link to my blog; however, I get disappointed when I find what I wrote duplicated in other sites (I know the mistakes I make and they reproduce them, so I’m more than sure the source is mine) without any link, sometimes those are pictures I published the first, in this case I send an e-mail to claim to be the original author and they are allowed to copy if they link to me; some webmasters apologize and accept to link, while most of them ignore my request, what can I do?
