Jospin returns to French politics

Euronews says:

Former French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin has made an emotional return to the political fray. Jospin quit politics after finishing behind far right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen in presidential elections four years ago. But he returned to the stage on Saturday and when a delegate asked him why he had left and why now he was back, he gave delegates at the Socialist Party’s summer school an emotional account of four years in the wilderness.

I have never liked that guy, known for his opportunism. Although he belongs to Socialist Party, his ideas are rather of right, it was proven when he used to be prime minister. I think that if he became president, he would be worse than Jean-Marie Lepen; the fascist leader is at least straight and almost all the time does what he says.
Now, he returns to politics, once he realized that he could obtain votes for the next presidential elections, after having played the honest and wise guy.

I don’t see Segolene Royal in The Elisée So Jospin is the best candidate now to avoid Nicolas Sarkozy.

I have never understood this French cleavage of right and left and the 1000 gray zones in between.

I love British politics. It’s simple: you either believe in the individual or in the providence of the State. If you believe in neither, or in both, then you can go to France and enjoy sustainable unemployment.

In the end, we are all Thaterites, we just come to realise it at different points of our lives.

Nice point; I agree with the fact that U.K is better when talking of social policies; but there’s a common thinking when it’s about foreign relationship.
How could a labor (okay, labour) partisan lick Bush’s ass and agree to involve his country into a dirty war in Iraq? Thus I don’t think it’s up to the minister or whoever, but to a whole system.

    Bonne nouvelle!

Je le préfère à Segolene Royale et à Nicolas Sarkozy…
