Green Bills

Green Peace meeting  I do respect Greenpeace and I consider it as one of the rare non-governmental organizations that make me feel that there’s still a hope to save the planet. But when those beautiful girls come to ask you 7 times per week about your bank account number to donate to the organization, I start to wonder whether Greenpeace does not have other ways to increase their income aside from begging people, which, in my opinion, harms to its reputation and gives people bad ideas about their activism.

Is that something common in Europe where Greenpeace asks for cash in the streets? I have not noticed that here in the US. Then again I live in a small town, maybe they go to the large centers. I like the dynamite for brain one! Sounds like our prez!

Ya know, I was thinking that reputations marred aside, perhaps the Greenpeace movement is just keeping up with the “liberated” times and testing the waters for a quick, sure-fire way to increase their moolah. Hmm, I suppose it doesn’t hurt either that the probability of a regretful idiot giving up his bank account number to a pretty slip of a girl is significantly higher than if one is being accosted and entreated by some old hag of a fishwife. After all, “sex sells”… faster.

    Hi, man.

My note won’t be part of the subject. How was your trip ? I am in Bizerte, with a shitty PSTN-modem connection.

I feel really bored here, missing my 18 Mega-extremely-mega-high-speed connection in Montreal :( .

    P’tit Loup :
I only noticed them in Brno, recently I talked with a Hungarian Greenpeace activist, and she was surprised to hear it, saying it’s not a typical organization’s way to get cash.
    Kaiser:
Trip was great, although I had to come back to Brno for some reason.
Boredom in Bizerte was expected, but say it’s better than the terrible days of Canadian winter :-)
    Sarah:
I could resist to the temptation! My account is safe and no whale saver touched it.

swobodin, i absolutely agree - imagine ppl working in the city center getting asked 20 times a week. no wonder they just start to hate greenpeace (also hnuti duha operating the same way - orange t-shirts). their time could be surely used in much more productive way.

    I think you’re wrong.

    I tried the following yesterday:
Message to Greenpeace girls: “I have already donated to hnuti duha, and I am not enough rich”.
Message to hnuti duha girls: “I have already donated to Greenpeace and I am not enough rich”.
Reality: I donated to nobody and I am not enough rich.
Consequence: Concurrence between the two organization is going to increase, unfortunately in a bad way.

Une telle réponse souligne un côté social, psychologique, epestimologique et culturel, du fait qu’elle dissimule un enjeu assez important quant à l’avenir de l’Europe, les questions environnementales ainsi que la coopération pour la sécurité et ….
Non mais, WTF, that could not be less detailed?
