Fedora 7 will be the next release of Fedora. It is highlighted by the elimination of the distinction between Fedora Core and Fedora Extras entirely; there is only Fedora.
My suggestion is, how about a light version of Fedora, that we would call it Fidorka?
Nothing serious, but I just liked the pack, plus […]

Those who like cows can’t ignore the political cows, cows with guns, The American Spy Cow Information. Now not less funny, Cow say and Cow think.
Cowsay is a Perl program that draws an ASCII cow with a speech balloon saying whatever pithy comment you give it on the command line. (Guess we’re talking about […]

Mark Shuttleworth, the South African Linux hacker and millionaire, owner of the company Canonical which sponsors Ubuntu, told in an interview with ChannelRegister that Ubuntu is going commercial.
Thus, Ubuntu will no longer be a community based Operating System.
Mr Shuttleworth also has a distant intention, somewhere in the future, of recouping some of the $10m […]

Yesterday I received the Ubuntu CD’s I requested one month ago. Well, I won’t talk about technical stuff, just 2 new things:
There’re no longer2 CD’s in one pack. If you want to install, first run the Live CD, and then, click on the icon. I haven’t tested it yet, so I can’t tell whether […]

Again, OpenSource developers have a sense of humor! I found it out at a Spanish documentation page of Ubuntu. Only requirement: Ubuntu itself. Enjoy!

Kaiser (from Paris) has screwed his Fedora box up, I (from Tunis) was helping him to save his data, waiting for Fedora Core 5 release (which occured last monday).

I’m supposed to promote Fedora Core, to help Fedora Core users to fix their problems, to talk about Fedora Core whenever it’s possible, to make this system as popular as Firefox, to recommend it for everyone, to distribute CD’s and DVD’s, to install it for free, to make a Fedora portal (it’s done), but […]

Yesterday was the Great Backup Day. I have recently bought a DVD burner, and had to buy it, because the space remaining on each partition was some megabytes; I wonder how I could survive! The good thing is that I learnt how to burn DVD’s without having to make an ISO image, the whole […]

Intertesting How To written by a woman, Val Henson.
I have read the document carefully and I try to follow the instructions; however, I could convince no woman or girl of my friends to totally switch to GNU/Linux.
You may tell me that even men often feel discouraged, but I keeptrying
Did anyone do an exploit?

TuNiSiaNo sent me some screenshot of his Fedora box, PPC architecture and Gnome environment. I liked the one above. Under the Firefox Logo it’s written:

How did not I pay attention to that during all this time? An only-1-MB GTK-based offline dictionary!
StarDict is a Cross-Platform and international dictionary written in Gtk2 and data is availbale from the Website. I started to find out about it downloading both Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary and the Russian Словарь Даля. Those data files […]
